Eicher sees tremendous growth in HCV segment

For the current year Eicher has experienced more than 125% growth in the HCV segment particularly higher than 25T segment.

Although the base was smaller for Eicher (only 500 sold last year 2010-11), but the growth has been stupendous for the current year. Till Jan 2012 they had already sold more than 1100 units.

Eicher also experience significant growth in 16T-25T segment this year, growing by 58% y-o-y.
They have also grown by 46.5% in the MCV segment (12T-16T) this year. Overall growth for Eicher has been 22% largely driven by HCV and MCV segments. However, they experienced moderate growths in LCV where they already had a larger base.

Tata Ace on a Growth Path

Tata Motors 26,500 Ace and Iris range of vehicles from its Pantnagar plant in Feb 2012.
They plan to make 32,000 vehicles in March 2012. There is a big demand for Ace and equivalent models in the market.

Watch out for higher numbers in this segment!

Apr-Jan 2011 Growth Numbers of Indian Commercial Vehicle Industry

The Growth Segment for the Indian Commercial Vehicle Industry clearly seems to be two fold:

1) LCV (less than 3.5 Ton)
2) Tractors (35 - 40 T)

If you analyse the LCV segment as well, the growth has been largely in the ACE TIPPER (1 TON) segment. The Largest players in the segment are TATA Motors, Mahindra and Mahindra and Piaggio.
